چکیده

Polymers have been used since decades as carriers for chemotherapeutic drugs. Among the various controlled release polymer technologies PLGA [poly(lactic acid-co-glycolic acid)] has the greatest clinical impact till date. Precisely engineered PLGA’s is the need of the hour (Figure 1). For the first time, Elizabeth Enlow and colleagues have come out with a new strategy of fabricating PLGA via the PRINT technology. Traditional methods of fabricating PLGA nanoparticles are emulsions, precipitations, spray drying,

Recent advances in the stabilization of proteins encapsulated in injectable PLGA delivery systems.

Injectable controlled-release systems based on biodegradable copolymers of lactic and glycolic acids (PLGAs) have become widely used for delivery of protein therapeutics and vaccine antigens. Over the last five years, great strides have been made toward overcoming the difficulty of stabilizing PLGA-encapsulated proteins. In addition to stabilizing proteins during encapsulation with anhydrous me...

PLGA-based macrophage-mediated drug targeting for the treatment of visceral leishmaniasis

The potential of PLGA-nanoparticles as a carrier of amphotericin B and doxorubicin against visceral leishmaniasis was evaluated by macrophage-mediated drug targeting approach. PLGA-nanoparticles were modified by coating them with macrophage-specific ligand-lectin. Prior to in-vitro studies, characterization studies were carried out systematically include particle size, surface morphology, perce...

Development of a hepatocyte-specific prostaglandin E(1) polymeric prodrug and its potential for preventing carbon tetrachloride-induced fulminant hepatitis in mice.

A polymeric prodrug of prostaglandin E(1) (PGE(1)) was synthesized using galactosylated poly(L-glutamic acid hydrazide) (Gal-HZ-PLGA) as a biodegradable and targetable carrier to hepatocytes. Poly(L-glutamic acid hydrazide) was prepared by reacting poly(gamma-benzyl-L-glutamate) with hydrazine monohydrate, followed by reaction with 2-imino-2-methoxyethyl-1-thiogalactosides to obtain Gal-HZ-PLGA...

Quantum chemical study of Interaction of PLGA polymeric nanoparticles as drug delivery with anti-cancer agents of thiazoline

Thiazoles derivatives are consisted in chemical compounds such as antimicrobial and anticancer medicine. Since polylactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) polymeric nanoparticles has been conversed about nanomedicine applications and particularly as drug delivery systems. Because of molecular self-assemblies and biodegradability of PLGA polymer, it can be used to carry anti-cancer and antimicrobial drug...
